Poor King George and Rush/Hewitt/Coulters

So what George is essentially is whining about is that the social conservatives actually want to have a SAY in the Republican party AND HOW DARE THEY!!!!

Earth to George.  And Rush.  And Ann.

Ronald Reagan was a man - not a God.  God rest his soul - HE IS DEAD. 

You remind me of the followers of Muhammad who are left trying to interpret what he would do and have made a religion out his memory.  You all are modern day Jesse Jacksons who claim to have the legacy to speak for Reagan, but you overlook the fact that Reagan was laughed at just like Huckabee was.  He had an amazing COMMUNICATION skill to PERSUADE people to conservative values.

Reagan played to populist harmonies drawing people with HOPE that not only could America be glorious again, but that individuals could see individual economic benefits even if they were currently living on less than $30K/year.

I love Duncan Hunter but his perpetual scowl can scare the bejesus out of the pope's exorcist. 

NO ONE in the race has those communication skills WITH true conservative understanding to give you people what you are crabbing, whining and complaining in what Huckabee is NOT.

But the distortion of Huckabee's record by Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and the likes of George Will undercover this fanaticism that leads me to believe it is actually THEY who have drunk the Reagan Kool Aid.  Each overlooks the foibles of Romney/McCain etc. that are MUCH worse than Huckabee, and try to bury this guy who  - while not perfect - is solidifying the grass roots Republican base and bringing in NEW and INDEPENDENT voters.

McCain/Romney/Guiliani can't hold the social conservative vote needed for a general election.  It's an integrity thing.  McCain for us attack of evangelicals and member of the Gang of 14, and Romney/Guiliani for their weak social positions.

That leaves us with Thompson and Huckabee.  Huckabee has at least RUN a government for 10+ years and contrary to deceptions on this blog - ended up with barely a .086% increase in taxes over those years after the BIGGEST tax cut in Arkansas history.  He did what STATES are supposed to do - build infrastructure and control services and he did it in a VASTLY Democratic bastion.  (Unlike Romney he didn't become a born again pro-lifer or illegal alien denier to achieve his office.)

Against Obama's charm, Thompson could barely excite a goosebump on a chicken.  And he actually has LESS overall government experience than Obama!!

George is crying that the Republican establishment's unquestioned proxy for social conservatives votes suddenly isn't working like they wanted it to.  Guess what George - they weren't yours to control.

And the founding fathers who approved buying bibles for schools in the original 13 states as their second act of legislation, isn't exactly what Limbaugh/Limbaugh/Hewitt/Coulter and fellow bullies would probably label "conservative."

And all of you who are (wrongly) proclaiming that the Evangelicals are not fiscal conservatives or are just voting on 'emotion' or identity - you are just plain ignorant.

But the HuckaWannaBees see something you don't.  HE can get new voters without compromising his social conservative stance.  He is the ONLY one being fiscally conservative in his campaign with no borrowing and is using his money more wisely than the 'elite' candidates Romney and Guiliani.  We've looked into the charges of ethics.  There was no Clintonian stealing of cattle futures or mansion furniture going on.  Only charges by an AK democratic establishment that were largely unfounded with maybe a small reporting mistake. 

WE see that offering the brightest students of illegal immigrants who themselves did not break the law a scholarship to join the American dream after becoming a citizen - doesn't mean Huckabee wants open borders.  Like Reagan on abortion, he needed to learn how bad the idea of trading with Cuba is and hasn't turned back.  

So to all of you elitist Republicans who think somehow you can cry, cajole and threaten the social conservatives to "obey" massa Limbaugh - buy a vowel.  The backbone of your party that delivered victories the past 20 years can't suddenly compromise the very thing that makes them strive to stand firm in the face of ridicule - their moral sense.  And in case you haven't known, they've been breeding and recruiting many, many more to their numbers than you have over the past 20 years and now it's time to decide if you want to constructively support a united party and positively influence the Huckabees of the world with reason, or whether you simply want to make a spectacle of yourself in front of the democrats like an impetuous toddler that is still crying momma didn't buy their favorite cereal.
